The artist should be engaged but also critical towards its own engagement. For me art is a critical way to cope with the sentiment of revolt and with my cynical self. Through visual expression I seek, mostly unsuccessfully, the deconstruction of concepts and symbols I consider need to be altered. I am driven to work by what upsets me in our present day reality, so my work results in a sort of benign individual protest. The two-dimensionality of corporative political world, the existing social tensions fuelled by belligerent identities and the demise of both included or excluded individual are motivational in my work. I often conceive a rebus-like imagery in which the materials or objects that I am using, are caring their story into the concept, merging into a new meaning.
